History of Eenadu Newspaper :
The newspaper was launched in Vishakhapatnam in 1974. Initially it did not meet success and was unable to sell even 3,000 copies in a week. It used to be composed by hand and used a second hand printing press to print the paper. Within a year it achieved its target of becoming a daily newspaper. In 1975 it launched itself in Hyderabad and distributed the paper free for a week and paid its paper boys advance for 3 months. The move was a huge success and soon it started to gain popularity and by 1978 it surpassed the leading newspaper of that time Andhra Prabha. Eenadu adopted the latest technology like computers, offset printing to expand in the 1980s. Facing stiff competition the newspaper group decided to launch its district editions which focused on news with local flavour thus negating the need for local dailies. The strategy paid off as 2 dailies closed down leaving Eenadu with a share of 75% among the Telugu newspapers.Eenadu Official Website is http://www.eenadu.net/
